PKSF Signed MoU
Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI)
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI)on 30 November 2015 at PKSF Bhaban under its `Agriculture Unit’. Dr. Jashim Uddin, Deputy Managing Director (Admin. and Finance) and Dr. Bhagya Rani Banik, Director (Training and Communication) signed the MoU on behalf of respective organizations. Mr. Md. Abdul Karim, Managing Director of PKSF, was present in the occasion. Besides, Mr. Golam Touhid Deputy Managing Director (Operations-2) of PKSF, Dr. Lutfur Rahman, Principal Scientific Officer (Training and Communication) of BARI and other members of PKSF and BARI higher management were also present in the occasion. BARI is the largest multi-crop research institute conducting research on a large number of crops. This institute also carries out research on non-commodity areas, such as soil and crop management, disease and insect management, irrigation and water management, development of farm machineries, improvement of cropping and farming system management, post-harvest handling and processing.
The Objectives of this MoU is to extendimproved agricultural technologies and practices of BARI to the farming community through PKSF’s Partner organizations (POs), to provide specialized training to concerned officials of PKSF and POs as well as organized farmers for their capacity building and to disseminate agricultural technology related latest information to the farming community through PKSF’s POs. Besides, both the parties came to a consensus for inclusion of organized farmers of PKSF’s POs to different applied research conducting by BARI.
