World Bank Delegation Called on Honorable Managing Director of PKSF
Discusses various aspects of Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP)
On 18 September 2019, Ms Magda Lovei, Practice Manager, Environment Natural and Blue Economy of the World Bank, had a courtesy meeting with the Managing Director of PKSF, Mr Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah at PKSF Bhaban. Mr Md. Fazlul Kader, Deputy Managing Director-1; Mr Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Project Coordinator, Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP), PKSF; Dr Nadia Sharmin, Task Team Leader (TTL)- SEP, the World Bank and Ms Suiko Yoshijima, Co-TTL- SEP, the World Bank were also present at the meeting.
A range of issues concerning SEP and future financing scopes were discussed in the meeting. Mr Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, Managing Director, PKSF informed that there is huge unmet demand for credit in microenterprise sector which is the biggest employment generating sector of the country. He also expressed that PKSF will need extended technical and financial support in future for scaling up the economic activities of the microenterprises and to ensure overall development of this sector.
Ms Magda Lovei thanked Managing Director of PKSF for making time for the meeting. She expressed her expectation of continued support to PKSF for the development of sustainable microenterprises and wish to visit the field level activities on her next visit. She also praised PKSF for its dynamic approach of implementing its programs and projects.
