First phase of Micro Enterprise (ME) Loan disbursement of PKSF under the World Bank financed
“Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP)”
PKSF handed over cheques worth BDT 57.0 crore to 11 (eleven) Partner Organizations (POs) under the World Bank financed Sustainable Development Project (SEP) on 25 April, 2019 at PKSF Bhaban. This was the first phase of loan disbursement to PKSF’s partner organizations under “Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP)” that initiated the field implementation of this project.
Mr. Md. Abdul Karim, Managing Director of PKSF presided over the event. The event was moderated by Mr. Md. Fazlul Kader, Deputy Managing Director-1, PKSF. Dr. Nadia Sharmin, project Task Team Leader, the World Bank; Mr. Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Project Coordinator, SEP; the Executive Directors of 11 Partner Organizations (POs) and other high officials of PKSF were also present at that event.
At the beginning of the event, Deputy Managing Director of PKSF Mr. Md. Fazlul Kader briefly discussed the key issues relating to effectiveness and significance of the project on global environmental and climate related problem mitigation perspectives. Mr. Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Project Coordinator, SEP shared the overview and progress of SEP. Later, Dr. Nadia Sharmin from the World Bank discussed about the World Bank’s environmental vision related to microenterprises which resembles to the project initiatives. Finally, the Managing Director of PKSF expected increased environmentally sustainable practices at microenterprise level through active participation of the partner organizations. He also hoped that this project would be a pioneer project in terms of its potential contributions to the development of environmentally sustainable microenterprises.
