To raise public awareness internationally about the extraordinary impact of the works of PKSF and to provide decision makers worldwide with substantive information on its various key areas, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is signed between Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Inter Press Service (IPS) at PKSF Bhaban on 3rd January, 2017.
Dr. Md. Jashim Uddin, Deputy Managing Director, PKSF and Ms. Farhana Haque Rahman, Director General, IPS signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. On that occasion, Chairman of PKSF Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Managing Director Mr. Md. Abdul Karim, all Deputy Managing Directors and other senior officials of PKSF were present.
Palli Karma-Sayahak Foundation (PKSF), a company registered under The Companies Act: 1913 (as replaced by The Companies Act: 1994) established by the Government of Bangladesh in 1990 as a not-for-profit organization. The overall mandate of the PKSF is sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic progress through sustainable employment generation and people’s capacity development.
Inter Press Service (IPS) is an international news agency, an associate of journalists that covers issues such as development, gender, environment, human rights and civil society. It is an independent news provider in Rome, Italy, and has chapters worldwide.
PKSF and IPS shall work collaboratively. The IPS international Newswire has over 350 journalists who cover major international and United Nations events, providing media reports and interviews with participants. The IPS reporters shall support and cover the work of the PKSF during major national and international observances. The MOU aims to build and strengthen the relationship between PKSF and IPS by providing a framework that defines in more detail, the areas of cooperation.
